Reopening of Pre-shipping Vehicle Inspection for Shipments to Uganda

【Important Notice】

Regarding the pre-export inspection for vehicles destined for Uganda,
which had been suspended on the Japanese side since November 16, 2023,
we would like to inform you that a notification document has been issued
by the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS).

Starting from April 2, 2024, and continuing for a period of one year,
contracts have been established with the following three inspection companies
to provide Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVOC) services
for vehicles destined for Uganda, and inspections will resume in Japan:

During the period from April 2, 2024, to May 1, 2024, a grace period will be in effect,
during which inspections conducted both in Japan and in Uganda will be valid.
However, for vehicles departing from Japan after May 2, 2024, it is mandatory for them
to have passed inspection in Japan.
In case a vehicle arrives at its destination without undergoing inspection and lacking a pass certificate,
a penalty (15% of the CIF price) will be imposed.
Therefore, we kindly request thorough attention during shipment.
