We would like to inform you that a notification document regarding changes to Pre-shipping inspection has been issued by the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS).

Currently, acceptance of pre-shipping inspections for Uganda (both EAA and QISJ) on the Japanese side has been suspended.
There has not been any notification yet regarding when to be resumed.

Therefore, vehicles that left Japan between September 23, 2023 and November 1, 2023 will be able to undergo an inspection on the Ugandan side, and will not be subject to the penalties that normally occur.
*However, we would recommend you to contact below regarding penalties and further details to confirm authenticities.

Used cars departing from Japan after November 2, 2023 will be required to undergo a pre-shipping inspection.

In the unlikely event that vehicles arrived in Uganda without inspection certificate, a penalty (15% of the CIF price) + on-site inspection fee (USD 140.00) will be charged.
Please pay attention when shipping vehicles to Uganda.
