Level of Satisfaction 3.0
I am very happy with the car I bought on TCV. However, any Canadian customers should be aware that three major components must be upgraded before registering their car in Canada. Daytime running lights are required. That is easily done with little expense. All 4 tires must have a DOT stamp, or they will have to be changed. Headlights in Japan shine to the left, but in Canada they are required to shine to the right. Aftermarket headlight assemblies cost me $600 for the pair. A pair of original equipment BMW headlights cost $2500. They cannot be adjusted, they must be changed. Luckily I could do the work myself which saved me hundreds of dollars in labour costs. All told, It cost me approximately $1500 more than I had expected. However, I am very satisfied with the end result, and all things considered I probably saved $4000 compared to buying a similar car in Canada.
